BADUSHA

Ahh,, finally there I am with badusha sweet after so many trials. When I was hunting for the recipe, there were many version of making this sweet but was confused which one to be selected. One day, as I was watching TV,  there was a cookery show in Jaya channel where I was so excited to note, that this is the one I was looking for. I noted down the ingredients and the exact measurements which ended up into a yummy delicious cute little badusha's :). The main thing which I loved the most is the sugar syrup where v can add more or less sugar as per our taste. So have a try guys and enjoy, share with ur loved ones :)

INGREDIENTS.

1 Cup Maida.

3 tbsp Ghee.

1 tsp Powdered Sugar.

1/2 tsp Elachi powder.

Pinch of Soda powder.

Water as needed.

Oil for deep fry.

INGREDIENTS FOR SUGAR SYRUP.

3/4 Cup Sugar.

1 Cup Water.

1/2 tsp Lime juice.

METHOD.

In a mixing bowl, add maida, ghee, pd sugar, elachi pd, soda pd and mix well. Now add water and knead it to a fluffy, soft dough. Let it rest for half an hour covered. Meanwhile heat a another pan, add sugar, and water and allow to boil till it comes to one string consistency. Switch off the flame and add lime juice. This heaps to reduce crystallation of sugar syrup. Keep it aside. Now divide the dough into small balls. Flatten the balls slightly and make a small dent in the centre. Repeat the same with the rest of the badushas. Heat oil in a frying pan.  Once the oil gets hot, drop in the badushas and fry till it turns into brown. Make sure to reduce the flame and then fry. This helps to cook badushas evenly outside and inside too.

Remove and drain from oil. Soak them in sugar syrup for 5 min and arrange them on plate. Leave it for 40 min or until the sugar syrup get set or until free from non sticky .

ENJOY!!
